What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is an altered state, which is bought about by Elaine using visualisations, soothing and relaxing words, to relax your body and mind. This in turn opens up your sub-conscious mind, which is then more receptive to suggestion. The sub-conscious part of your mind is the most powerful part of the mind and can bring about dramatic changes. With hypnosis the person is empowered and made independent enough to solve his/her own problems. Hypnosis can change behaviours that would otherwise seem difficult, if not previously impossible to change.

You are not actually asleep, merely in a state of deep relaxation, described similar to day-dreaming or the feeling you have just before you go to sleep and you are aware of everything that is happening during the session.

What happens during a Hypnotherapy session?

A consultation is taken and you will be asked various questions relating to your presented problem. In Hypnotherapy we aim to get to the root of the cause firstly, not necessarily the presented problem. Then depending on your problem go through various NLP visualisation and suggestion techniques and then be put into a lovely relaxed state, where the therapist will then feed your suggested changes back to your sub-conscious mind – changes - that you wish to bring about.
